How am I doing?
Dear Parents/Carers
If you have a child in years 7-10, you will be aware that over the next 2 weeks they will sit a series of end of year exams.
In preparation for these exams, some lesson time and home learning time has been given over to preparing students – helping them to Learn to Learn.
While each subject has content that students have to learn, a key purpose of these end of year exams is to teach students how best to learn – how to retain what they have been taught over a period of time and then retrieve it, in a way, that they can apply it in an examination scenario.
The outcome of the exams will also give my staff some excellent feedback as to who has developed really good learning to learn skills and has achieved well in the exams, and who may need extra support moving forward.
The aim is that by the time students reach the point of sitting GCSE exams in the summer of year 11, they have a learning to learn ‘tool kit’ that they can call upon to support them in achieving their very best outcomes.
Enjoy the weekend with your children.
