July Offerings
Being Grounded

“Walk as if you are kissing the earth with your feet.”

~ Thich Nhat Hanh

Beloved Yoga Friends,

The concept of being grounded refers to a feeling of being stable, at ease, and consciously present. When we feel grounded, we are able to accept and let go of challenging moments throughout the day and are not so easily influenced by others’ ideas or feelings. We feel deeply rooted and at peace with our true nature.

Being Grounded:

  • Brings you into the present moment
  • Strengthens your sense of self-worth and purpose
  • Cultivates deep trust in yourself
  • Allows you to feel connected to nature
  • Maintains balance
  • Creates space for mindfulness

Yoga, meditation, and walking in nature are grounding practices that bring us back into the present moment and allow us to feel calm, balanced, and alive.

This month, I am happy to be offering classes and 1:1 sessions that will allow you to feel grounded and spacious in your body, mind, and spirit.

I hope you can join me!

Love,
Lauren Amrita

P.S. Check out at the bottom of this newsletter the grounding practice: Earthing with a Walking Meditation and learn about the benefits of having direct contact with the earth’s surface.

Full Moon Restorative Yoga

Relax Release Restore

In this special class, we will begin by using gentle movement to soften and open the body and mind to create more space for the breath and possibility. We will then practice a Restorative Yoga sequence to journey inward, listen to our needs, and be receptive to change. Balance will be restored as tension and self-limiting beliefs are released. This will allow us to open to our full potential and access a deeper level of inner awareness.

I hope you can join me for this deeply nourishing and supportive practice.

Earthing with a Walking Meditation:

Earthing, also known as grounding, allows us to directly connect our bodies with the earth and use its natural electric charges to stabilize us. This technique restores the connection between the body and the electrical currents of the earth.

Evidence has shown that contact with the earth improves health. Walking barefoot outdoors reduces pain, stress, inflammation, and helps improve sleep.

Earthing with a Walking Meditation:

  • Find a natural environment, like a nature trail, a beach or a grassy area.
  • Remove your shoes and socks and find a comfortable place to stand.
  • Sense the texture of the earth against your feet. Feel the contact with your heels, arches, toes, and spaces in between.
  • Relax and let your breath become slow and regular.
  • When you are ready, step forward with one foot and slowly move your weight onto it.
  • Walk slowly, noticing the sensations in your feet.
  • Breathe in time with each step, ie. breathe in with your left stride, breath out with the right.

(Adopted from the Chopra Center)

“Once you are in contact with nature and the trees and flowers, your life becomes a prayer.”
