A Royal Visit
Our pupils were lucky enough to see Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex and his wife Sophie, the Countess of Wessex this week.  Our Year 5 pupils lined Main Street and had the opportunity to speak to the Royal couple.  Our pupils sung a rendition of 'God Save the Queen'.
In the afternoon, our whole school welcomed our Royal visitors as they passed by the school on Europa Road.  

Faith Diary
After May, the month dedicated to Our Lady, June begins with the great Feast of Pentecost celebrated last Sunday. Pentecost is an ancient Jewish feast, which in the Christian Calendar marks the arrival of the Holy Spirit who came, as Jesus had promised, to inspire his disciples and empower them to found His Church on Earth. It is the first of three great feasts held this month and is followed by the Feast of the Most Holy Trinity held this coming Sunday. Known as Trinity Sunday, this feast celebrates the nature of God himself: the relationship between the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit, the Three Persons in one God, which is the central mystery of the Church. This in turn will lead us to the Feast of The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ next Sunday, better known as the ‘Feast of Corpus Christi,’ which is all about that other great mystery of the Church: the transformation of the bread and wine into the body and blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ during the eternal sacrifice of the Mass.

Mike in Year 5 and Bill in Year 4 are very proud for taking part in the Ocean clean-up organised by the Nautilus project. They are both members of Gibraltar canoeing association.  The session entailed collecting all the surface plastic within the marina area. 
Between all the canoeists 9.84kg of debris was collected!  A fantastic effort keeping our shore litter free!
