Embrace the earworm; songs of summer are here

While Generation Z has finally discovered the awesomeness of Kate Bush (thank you, Stranger Things), we're noticing a handful of throwback songs getting stuck on repeat in the brain. At the APN office we've been trilling about pairs of roller skates to the tune of "Brand New Key" for weeks. And let's face it, we're gonna be running up that hill all weekend. 

Thank goodness the network crew has this week's playlist ready to go — pop in those buds and fear not the earworm; science says it might be just what you need in the moment.

• As this year's CFL season kicks off, we're wishing a very happy seventh anniversary to our pals at 2 and Out CFL Podcast — we're looking forward to hearing you all summer long! 
• APN founder Karen Unland is back on the airwaves as co-host of Taproot's Bloom; the most recent episode sees Faaiza Ramji regale her with tales from the Inventures conference that was held by Alberta Innovates in Calgary last weekend. 
• The schoolyear comes to a close, and Ed - Conversations About the Teaching Life goes on hiatus, too. We're extending warm thoughts to Shane and all the teachers out there after almost three years of COVID calamities.
