Overheard on Podcasting, Seriously Live
|
|
This week on Podcasting, Seriously Live on Twitter Spaces, we welcomed Bryan Barletta, founder of Sounds Profitable, a weekly source for podcast advertising and ad tech education and news, to discuss the benefits of having a legal entity in place as a creator. Some takeaways are:
- "Having enough humility to know where your strengths are is really important as you start to grow [your business]," Bryan notes.
- Bryan grew the Sounds Profitable brand by collaborating with other creators, creating content that met his target audiences' needs, and reaching out and getting to know what other people are doing in the spaces he wanted to be in.
- Incorporating your business as a separate legal entity protects you as an individual, your personal assets, and allows the company to absorb liabilities and risks.
- As you grow as a creator and establish yourself as a business owner, it's important to have a good support system in place that includes a lawyer, accountant, and a core group of individuals that can act as your advisory board.
