ONLY A FEW SEATS LEFT

Join us on Sunday, June 26th at 1pm to learn about Northport resident and vaudeville star Julian Eltinge. Learn about the early days of Broadway and about Northport when it was the summer playground of the rich and famous. Julian Eltinge came from humble beginnings in Montana and rose to become one of the best-paid performers on Broadway and the silver screen. During his short but spectacular career (1900-1931) he was known for his flawless impersonation of the ideal Victorian Lady and is today hailed as one of the precursors to modern mega-famous drag queens, from their immaculate makeup to their entrepreneurial empires.

The lecture will be presented by NHS’s Education Director Ceylan Swensen.  It will include images and clips of Eltinge’s performances and a display of our prized collection of signed Eltinge photos.
