POM COMMUNITY NEWS

Linda Ryden and her Peace of Mind students led the audience in two mindfulness practices and talked about what Peace of Mind has meant for them.  Thank you, Jane Wilkins, for this video!

Teaching Peace Makes a Difference

The Catalogue for Philanthropy invited Peace of Mind to share our work during their Hope Springs! Gala on May 19th.  Who better to talk about the impact of Peace of Mind than our students?  After a back-stage mindful moment, Jasmine, Lilly, Lake, Maya, Iris, Matthew, Andrew and Alexis wowed the audience with their mindfulness guidance and thoughtful reflections.  In a time of heartbreak and overwhelming challenges at every turn, their presentation brought bountiful hope and inspiration.  Sharing these powerful skills, together we can make a difference for our kids.

Peace of Mind student Nora says: "I think it's important for kids to have Peace class .... to take care of our mental health."  60 seconds worth watching!

Help us bring Peace of Mind to more students!

It has never been more important for educators to have tools like Peace of Mind to help kids manage anxiety and stress. Peace of Mind also helps kids practice gratitude to build resilience, and helps them connect with each other across differences of opinion and background. Supporting this work is a powerful way to make an impact right now.  Our spring fundraising campaign ends on June 10th - we have raised 74% of our  $12,000 goal - only $3,200 to go! Please consider a contribution! Thank you so much.

GRATITUDE

This month we're especially grateful to...

The Catalogue for Philanthropy for inviting us to participate in the Hope Springs! gala this month. It was an honor to be included, and a pleasure to meet in person the donors who support our work!

The Peace of Mind parents who generously gave their time and and patiently navigated the necessary logistics so that their children could participate in the Catalogue for Philanthropy Event this month. We truly appreciate you!

Shawn Donnelly, Peace of Mind volunteer extraordinaire, who has devoted many kind hours to improving our data management and fundraising systems this month.  What a difference this makes! Thank you!

HTCC  in Washington DC for their recent generous grant to allow us to revise The Peace of Mind Core Curriculum for Early Childhood and to create and share Professional Development resources to help young children cope with COVID-19 related trauma.  We are especially grateful to HTCC's Social Justice Tithe Committee for their thoughtful and supportive work during the proposal process.  We're very excited to be able to embark on this work over the summer so that we can share this work with educators in Fall 2022!  Thank you!

Ongoing thanks to The Bender Foundation, The Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation, Johnson & Johnson, The Healthier Greener Kinder Foundation, The Nora Roberts Foundation, The Fund for the Future of our Children, and our many generous individual donors for their kind and generous ongoing support!

In peace,
