While researching local makers, I stumbled upon Finger Lakes Yarn and Fibers on Facebook and was happy to discover that Karen Berk also had a mission to promote sustainable products. Karen hand dyes unique plant-based yarns mainly for weavers - but some knitters, crocheters and even an embroiderer have been taken by her shimmering Tencel or super soft Pima Cotton. So many of you have admired her Raku Woven Scarf on display in the shop. Karen’s colorways are inspired by the outdoors, especially her love of kayaking in the beautiful Finger Lakes.
