Editorial:
There should be NO Health Food Stores, a Pox on us all!

There should be no health food stores if it were not for the endless chemicals throughout society and the environment. This trend began the mid to late 1800’s with the BIG Oil tycoons, who were high risk, hard driven people, who made crazy money over a very short period, developing the oil industry, which greatly influenced ‘modern society’.

I assume they had no idea oil would pollute, create dis ease and turn food, air and water into a chemical mixture of xenoestrogens, cancer causing agents, respiratory illness and so on. Oil along with electricity turned a simple existence into the mega experience of technology, we live in today. [Oil originally was a native remedy, that sold as a miracle ‘cure-all’, by snake oil salesmen].

After WW2 the use of chemicals in the production of food, from pesticides to processing additives, chemical use rapidly increased, to the point we now find ourselves with most conventional foods contain, GMO [1996], Crispr, Cell Meats, hi corn fructose, canola oil, and other highly processed ingredients. There are over 55,000 synthetic flavors for instance.

If there were no health food stores the access to safe, preventative, natural food and medicine would be compromised! Thank GOODNESS for the people who dedicate their lives to providing clean, organic, grass fed, simple basic foods which help protect and prevent dis ease from the daily increase of chemicals being put in water, food and sprayed in the atmosphere.

“A pox on us all” came to mind this week when the Tomato Flu was declared, along with other monkey business. I expect there will be more drugs to offset countless ‘poxes’ over the next decade, perhaps a full spectrum vegetable jab with fruit booster included, or no travel,

Is this being taken seriously...apparently so,

I have joked, food grown in yucky icky dirt, would be seen as vile, full of bacteria soil, omg yuk, give me my lab meat, gmo, vertically farmed engineered foods, which I expect will be taught in primary school, as part of a complete mnra breakfast.

Happy Sales!

The Most Important Virus Vs the Most Important Immune Herb
From the Natural Path Newsletter
by Linda Woolven M.H., R.Ac & Ted Snider

You’ve been waiting for this match up. How would echinacea, the king of the immune herbs, do in a match against COVID? This new study matched them up. And the winner is . . . .
Echinacea is, perhaps, the most important general immune herb. It has broad antiviral effects, but does much of its work, not by killing the virus, but by helping your immune system to do its work. It has shown antiviral activity against coronaviruses in general.

A previous study has suggested that the combination of echinacea and ginger could be effective against COVID (J Complement Integr Med. 2021 Mar 31;18(4):775-781).

Perhaps because echinacea works in so many ways, preliminary studies show that respiratory viruses have limited ability to evade the antiviral effects of echinacea. In vitro studies suggest the inability to evade immunity caused by echinacea holds true for COVID variants of concern also (BioRxiv 2021;10.1101/2021.12.12.472255).

This new, unblinded, controlled study gave people either nothing or 800mg of Echinacea purpurea extract 3 times a day. They were followed for 23 weeks to see if they developed a respiratory tract infection in general or COVID in particular. If they did get an infection, the echinacea group was treated with 800mg 5 times a day.

119 people were included in the study. There were 14 cases of COVID in the control group but only 5 in the echinacea group. That is a significant 63% reduction in risk.

Echinacea was also able to significantly reduce viral loads by more than 99%, and, compared to the control group, echinacea significantly reduced the time to virus clearance by 4.83 days.

Echinacea also significantly reduce the number of days with fever from 11 in the control group to only 1.

This study suggests that adding echinacea can be a useful layer to add for prevention and treatment of COVID.

Beta-carotene: The Orange Pigment with Multi-faceted Health Benefits

Beta-carotene is one of many carotenoids found in fruits and vegetables. It is also an orange-red pigment that accounts for the orange color of carrots, sweet potatoes, apricots, butternut squash, cantaloupe, and red-orange bell peppers, which are high in beta-carotene content; But, so are many dark green leafy vegetables (spinach, broccoli, etc.) where the high chlorophyll content masks the beta-carotene in these foods, making them green.

Beta-carotene is not only an antioxidant but one-sixth of your beta-carotene consumption can be converted into vitamin A if your body requires it. Studies show that over 40% of the population gets only half of the recommended daily intake of vitamin A.  As such, more beta-carotene intake can help ensure your body achieves optimal vitamin A nutritional status. Unlike preformed vitamin A, if your body doesn’t need more vitamin A your body simply DOES NOT convert beta-carotene into vitamin A, thus preventing vitamin A toxicity.

Beta-carotene also supports immune health and shows various important anti-cancer properties, especially when ingested from foods containing beta-carotene. Keep beta-carotene on your radar and try to have at least one beta-carotene-rich fruit or vegetable each day if possible.
