It is really easy to feel overwhelmed trying to navigate mental health as a family … whether it be our own or our kids’, parents’, or grandparents’ mental health - it can be a challenging journey.
FAC passionately believes in helping families build lives that honour God – at every stage of life. Part of that journey is understanding how to navigate our mental health as families.
As a Family Life Team (which includes the leadership of Children, Youth and Young Adults, Couples, and Senior Adults Ministries) we often hear about the challenges in this area and so we invite you to join us on June 9 at 7:30 pm at Deerfoot Campus of First Alliance Church in the Discovery Theatre for a free evening of learning and discussion with registered psychologist Dr. Neil Parker as he helps us learn how to navigate mental health as families.
Dr. Parker is a registered psychologist at Masters Counselling Services (MS in Applied Psychology, Ph.D. in Psychology). He will offer insights into navigating mental health as an adult, how to recognize mental health issues in your child (like self-esteem, anxiety, self-harm, suicide, etc.) and what you can do as a parent if your child is dealing with these realities. His presentation will be followed by a response time
To register for this free event, text the phrase “mental health” to the church office 403-252-7572 or visit https://www.faccalgary.com/events-registration
