Seaside Cruizers 29th Anniversary Father’s Day Weekend!

June 2022 Newsletter - Issue #4 - 2022

A Message From The President!

After having to cancel our Father’s Day Weekend for the past two years, it sure feels good to be good to putting this on once again. With the record number of vehicles we have a registered, it is clear that a lot of our car enthusiasts feel the same.

Once again we want to welcome everyone to the Oceanside area and look forward to seeing you all.

Alex Plonka, President, Seaside Cruizers Society

Let’s talk about BURNOUTS!

I know that everyone loves a good burnout but there is an appropriate time and place for you to show how much power your car has.

THE CRUISE IS NOT THE TIME NOR THE PLACE!

I know that there are a few spectators along the route that encourage you to do a burnout and each year we get a complaints from residents along the route about these burnouts. Rumour has it that some residents have been advised to use their cel phones to video the burnouts for subsequent delivery to the RCMP.

PLEASE DON’T RISK IT!

If you still feel you have need to check the power in your car, please get it out of your system by doing a burnout in front of your or your neighbour’s house prior to coming to the show.

If Burnouts continue to be an issue on our Cruise, this may be the last year it is part of our Father’s Day Weekend.

Oceanside RCMP welcomes everyone to the 2022 Seaside Cruizers Cruise Night which will see over 400 classic vehicles travelling throughout the scenic Parksville / Qualicum Beach area.

The Oceanside RCMP reminds drivers that all Motor Vehicle Act laws are expected to be followed during the Cruise Night and that reports of any infractions will be investigated and enforced. Drivers are requested to be mindful that doing “burnouts” on public roadways is strictly prohibited and is considered as stunt driving under the Motor Vehicle Act. Drivers doing “burnouts” are subject to fines and seven-day vehicle impoundments.

Oceanside RCMP hopes everyone has a safe, fun and enjoyable weekend.

Sergeant Shane Worth, Oceanside RCMP

There will be room to park a number of classic cars, hot rods, etc., along 2nd Avenue East, between Fir and Berwick Road S. You can enter off Memorial Drive in Qualicum.

Bring your ride and park it in the location stated. Bring your lawn chair so it can be moved to take in the movie, if required.

Presents… “CRAM THE ‘CUDA!”

Mamas for Mamas is a non-profit organization that works towards filling the gaps in the community. We believe it takes a community to solve poverty, and we work with caregivers to help with resources that are not already accessible.

Help us “CRAM THE CUDA” by bringing formula, diapers and wipes to the car show to support our Tiny Bundles Program. We want to ensure no child goes without on Vancouver Island!

CAR EVENT ETIQUETTE!

While most people who attend car shows are kind and considerate, there is a small percentage that are not. They will do things that annoy or insult car owners, belittle their hard work, or even damage their vehicles. No one wants scratches on the car they spent HOURS polishing to a high gloss. The trouble is, most of us have said or done something that qualifies as being rude without realizing it or meaning to. So give the following a look and make sure you’re not, "That person."

  • Don’t Touch the Cars!

  • Be considerate of others!

  • Please Leave Your Pets at Home

  • Pick up your trash!

  • Common Sense and Courtesy!

In the end, a little common sense and courtesy goes a long way to helping everyone enjoy the Seaside Cruizers’ Father’s Day Weekend.

We hope to see you there!

Keep on Cruizin’
