CAAW is less than one week away!

Image

With less than 7 days to go before the launch of Clinical Audit Awareness week (CAAW22) it seems fitting that we dedicate our e-News for June to CAAW22. As you may have seen we have been working hard to support local clinical audit and QI professionals with this initiative and you can find out more via our dedicated webpage, available here. We commence our CAAW22 festivities with a breakfast meeting on 13 June at 9am. Guest speaker Sarah Fereday will be looking at how we re-energise ourselves and we will be revealing our first five CASC scholars. We will also be sharing a new resource to help promote and reinvigorate clinical audit and we will be sending out 50 free breakfasts so if you are planning to join us, please email your home address to info@clinicalauditsupport.com. The zoom codes for the meeting are: 882 9762 5852 Passcode: 363062

Lots of resources on offer

We have updated and refreshed our popular Clinical Audit for Dummies Guide ready for CAAW22. The 8-page document provides those new to audit with a quick overview of clinical audit including details of how audit dovetails with quality improvement. To access the updated Dummies Guide, click here. Our popular pledge cards also return - we have created six new versions that you can download and use as part of events that you are running. In previous years many local audit and QI teams have also downloaded resources that we have created to help explain and showcase clinical audit. Click here, to access our most frequently used infographics. Please remember that all these materials are copyright of CASC. If you use any of our documents do not remove our logo.

A wide range of events on offer

We have lots of events planned for Clinical Audit Awareness Week. We are delighted to once again be partnering up with the amazing team at Audit Management and Tracking (AMaT) to run a short online workshop focusing on Excel. The session will include lots of Excel hacks and top tips and is aimed at those who want to improve their Excel skills. The session takes place at 2.30pm on Tuesday 14 June and the zoom codes are: 874 6636 3289 Passcode: 483237. In addition to this we are also running an interactive workshop for members of the hospice community led by the brilliant Anne-Marie Murkett. On Friday 17 June we are taking CAAW outside of the UK to our customers based in the Republic of Ireland. To round off CAAW22 we will be holding a graduation event to celebrate the success of our 2021/22 clinical audit learners. Details have been sent to those eligible to attend.

Twitter polls and fun

Image

We love Twitter and will be using it frequently in the build-up to CAAW22 and during the week itself. From 8am every day we will be launching a Twitter poll that will give you an opportunity to vote for your favourite clinical audit diagram. We will be running other polls and plan to use CAAW22 not just to celebrate clinical audit but to focus on some of the challenges that our profession struggle to resolve. Cake Off is back for Year 3 so if you are a baker, please get into the kitchen to create a relevant cake and post your efforts on Twitter. We have a trophy and £50 on offer to the winner. We will also be using Twitter to profile recipients of our long service awards. Lots of work has gone into this project and we are excited to be able to share the outputs during CAAW22. HQIP awards and events

Image

We encourage our community to link in with HQIP as part of CAAW22. The HQIP awards are the flagship event of CAAW22 and we can’t wait to see the five winners and examples of their clinical audit projects. We are waiting to hear how many nominations were received this year, but we hope the numbers are comparable to the hundreds sent in during 2019 and 2020. HQIP’s daily 90-minute Lunch and Learn events should also be worth joining although please note these events are nothing to do with our Learn at Lunch events. They are completely different. HQIP have assembled some good speakers and you can find out more here.
