At takana we are specialists in growing native trees and we have acquired over the years a broad knowledge of New Zealand’s native trees and the conditions under which they will best thrive. Along with this, we’ve specialised in growing trees to BIG tree stage which enables you to supply an instant ‘established’ look, whether it’s to street, residential or commercial developments, golf courses, parks, or reforesting projects. We want your project to stand out for its natural and extraordinary ‘instant environment’ look.

How we supply
Our most popular species are supplied in 45L grades, often in hessian-wrapped rootballs (for planting direct into the ground, no disposal of bags, after the trees have been grown in our Propots) and in 160L bags. Increasingly we will be making more species available in 450L and 1000L bags, which we currently have in Nikau and Pohutukawa. We also supply a range of field-grown mature trees (4-6m) which we can extricate from the rich peat soil they’re grown in, to deliver without delay.
