POTLUCK DINNER
Monday June 13 will feature a POTLUCK DINNER at the BSBC, from 7-9 PM!
We welcome ALL from our community to join us.
We will spend the whole two hours gathered to eat, share, and be social. There will be no meditation!
Bring any dish you want to share— and consider printing a small card with the ingredients of your dish to place alongside it.
Please feel free to attend even if you cannot bring anything.
We look forward to having you ALL join us for a night of socializing and breaking bread with our communty of spiritual friends— our kalyana mitras— on Monday, June 13 @ 7 PM.
Dear Sangha Members,
We vow to go through our meetings in a spirit of togetherness as we review all ideas and consolidate them to reach a harmonious understanding or consensus. We vow to use the methods of loving speech and deep listening in order to bring about the success of this meeting as an offering to the Three Jewels. We vow not to hesitate to share our ideas and insights but also vow not to say anything when the feeling of irritation is present in us. We are resolutely determined not to allow tension to build up in this meeting. If any one of us senses the start of tension, we will stop immediately and practice Beginning Anew right away so as to re-establish an atmosphere of togetherness and harmony. (from Joyfully Together)

Bucks County Interfaith Coalition for Refugee Resettlement
BSBC has decided to join in an effort to support one or more Afghan families to be located in Bucks County. Bucks County Interfaith Coalition for Refugee Resettlement (BCICRR) is a group of individuals from local religious organizations (Christian, Jewish, Muslim) who have supported two Syrian families since 2016. A new coalition has been organized that will be an expansion of BCICRR.
To get involved, one can visit the website of BCICRR: https://bcicrr.wildapricot.org/ and then click on LINK to go to a questionnaire that lists various volunteer tasks and how to get engaged in the process of joining the coalition. They are organizing teams to focus on such immediate needs as apartment hunting and collecting household furnishings, etc. Additional teams are being formed to provide such services as an English/Afghan language translator team, an assistance with transportation team, a medical/dental liaison team, a legal issues/immigration issues team, a public assistance liaison team, an English as a second language tutoring team, a child care team, and someone to coordinate with each family.
The Synergy Project Wish List
Valley Youth House is currently accepting monetary donations and gift card donations for The Synergy Project: Street Outreach Program–designed to help runaway, homeless, nomadic and street youth age 21 and under, The Synergy Project, began in Bucks County and eventually grew to include the Allentown, Philadelphia, and Dauphin County areas. The program offers survival supplies, peer support, informal counseling, information and referral service and assistance to get youth off of the streets, if desired. Last year, The Synergy Project served 1,659 youth.
Monetary or Gift cards to places like Family Dollar, Subway, Wawa, Big Lots, Redners, Giant, Walmart, etc are excellent ideas for this charity.

The Buddhist Sangha of Bucks County offers our programs, retreats, and weekly meetings through the volunteer efforts of our members. We rely on your weekly donations (dana) to pay our rent and provide various offerings.
