Hey <<First Name>>

SUBJECT: 7 Deadly CEO Sins : Gluttony

Apols, I have been pretty tied up co-founding Zero Carbon Ventures; a company based in the UAE. The company and technology was featured in the The Economist last week.

Zero Carbon Ventures is on a trajectory to become a Unicorn.

BUT.. a "Unicorn without Gluttony" that does something useful (like de-carbonise), ethically and profitably - that's difficult?

So apols, that's the reason for my radio silence.

So, let's to get back to the common theme and the underlying enablers:

So: 7 Deadly CEO Sins : Gluttony

"Tom, never eat anything larger than your head."

Solid advice from my grandmother!

We eat too many scotch eggs and Cadbury's Chocolate not because we are greedy, but because we’re emotionally and spiritually starving.

We want love far more than we want calories.

We’re just at a loss as to how to find it.

The solution isn’t to be told to eat less as influencers and breakfast TV hosts suggest… it’s to be helped to discover new sources of kindness, an emotional connection.

Our appetite isn’t essentially bad. It simply hasn’t found its ideal target.

Our excess weight is a symbol of our background, emotional undernourishment.

The same is true in business. Often it starts with the overriding mantra that bigger is always better…

The fastest to scale wins.

That enough is never enough…

Having successfully worked at turning around over 200 companies in the UK, I’ve seen up close and personal how their gluttonous attitude for market share, share price growth and profit has caused companies to self-destruct. More about that in my latest books, you can check them out here.

If you feel like you you’ve bitten off more than you could chew, then maybe it’s time to talk.

Let’s cut back on all that’s unhealthy for your business and get it into shape for summer.

Cheers,

Tom

“The richest person is not the one who has the most, but the one who needs the least” — an old saying in Arabic
