Junior Sports Awards 2022

Armagh Banbridge and Craigavon Junior Sports Awards 2022 Sponsored by new Headline Sponsor Manfreight Limited

We are delighted to invite nominations for the Junior Sports Awards 2022 for the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council area, which are to be held on Friday 14th October in the Armagh City Hotel
 
Nominations can be made in the following categories for achievements from 1st July 2020 – 30th June 2022 (please note the 2 year time period). 

  • Sports Person with a  Disability
  • Junior Male / Youth Male 
  • Junior Female / Youth Female 
  • Junior School Team / Youth School Team
  • Junior Club Team / Youth Club Team
  • School Coach / Club Coach
  • Young Volunteer

Please refer to the JSA 2022 Guidance Notes on how to nominate and details on specific categories. Each nominee can only be nominated in one category and for the Young Volunteer Awards, we will only be accepting one nominee per school/club. We would encourage nominations of coaches and in particular the coaches of Junior & Youth School/Club teams that are being nominated. 
 
Nominations this year need to be made online and close on Friday 8th July at 5pm

SportMaker Awards

Sport Northern Ireland is giving the sporting community an opportunity to say “thank you” to local coaches, officials, volunteers and projects, through their 2022 SportMaker Awards which are now OPEN.

The Sport Northern Ireland SportMaker Awards recognise the outstanding contribution of coaches, officials, volunteers and projects over the previous 12 months and the role they play in encouraging people to benefit from the power of sport. There are 12 award categories as follows:

Awards for Coaches

  1. Children’s Coach of the Year
  2. Community Coach of the Year
  3. Young Coach of the Year
  4. Disability Coach of the Year
  5. Performance Pathway Coach of the Year
  6. Club Performance Coach of the Year

Awards for Officials

  1. Technical Official of the Year
  2. Young Technical Official of the Year (25 years of age and under)

Awards for Volunteers

  1. Volunteer of the Year
  2. Young Volunteer of the Year (25 years of age and under)

Awards for SportMaker Projects

  1. Project of the Year
The deadline for applications is Sunday 24th July.

Watersports Safety Sessions

Sport NI and Get Wet NI are offering FREE safety sessions in 3 watersports - Stand Up Paddleboarding, Sit-on-Top Kayaking & Open Water Swimming to help you stay safe in the water. Sessions are available in each council area across NI with the following upcoming session taking place within the ABC Council area.
