Hey everyone,
I have touched down in Las Vegas and I couldn't be more excited! It's peak poker season and the World Series of Poker is in full swing.
I arrived in the city at about 10pm, but before heading to sleep last night I went to check out the new home of the WSOP, at Bally's/Paris and WOW does it look great! If you don't already have plans to come out here for the WSOP (or for our Mixed Game Festival 😉), you might want to reconsider because it's just too cool to miss.
Since our last newsletter, we revealed more details about "what'll be on the table" during our second Mixed Game Festival from June 12-16, so be sure to check that out if you haven't already.
Leading up to the festivities, I've got a speaking engagement tomorrow at Tommy Rockers, where I'll be presenting to Las Vegas' famed Wednesday Poker Discussion Group beginning at 1pm. Topics I'll be covering include the history of the Cardplayer Lifestyle website, what it was like to translate Eli Elezra's autobiography from Hebrew in to English, a brief introduction to mixed game poker and why you should be playing non-Hold'em games, and more!
Even if you "don't play mixed games", our festival gives you the perfect opportunity to learn for low stakes, and have a great time with bunches of great people. Plus there's tons of great merch you could win for FREE besides our grand prize: flight + accommodation to one of 8 European countries and a €400 buy-in to a "Road to PSPC" event where you could pick up a Platinum Pass!
Over the next few days, I'll be at the WSOP for a good deal as well as at a number of other poker rooms around the city. Today I'll be playing in my only tournament of the summer, a $300 buy-in triple draw mix of 2-7, A-5, and Badugi at the Golden Nugget. So, wish me luck as I hope to be posting a winner's photo on Twitter before I go to sleep tonight.
If you see me anywhere around the city, or of course at Resorts World during our Mixed Game Festival, be sure to come say hi and get yourself a free Cardplayer Lifestyle patch.
