Summer 2022 Kicks Off!

Greetings! IOGA wishes our membership and supporters a wonderful and successful summer enjoying the natural wonders of beautiful Idaho! Please continue reading for important reminders/calls to action, industry updates, special events and other relevant information.

CALLS TO ACTION

PLEASE REVIEW DRAFT RULES OF IOGLB

The IOGA has been working closely with the Idaho Outfitters and Guides Licensing Board (IOGLB), guides & outfitters, and members of the public to review draft rules and regulations for the outfitter industry. We are advocating for our industry through a series of review meetings and public listening sessions to help craft reasonable rules & regulations that support safety, productive business operations and the conservation of Idaho’s fish, wildlife and natural resources. Please take some time to review these proposed rules that may impact your business or work life. The next IOGLB Negotiated Rulemaking meeting is on June 15th.

PLEASE DISTRIBUTE ECONOMIC OUTPUT SURVEY TO CUSTOMERS

The Idaho Outfitters & Guides Association is sponsoring a study that will describe the significance of outdoor outfitters and guides to Idaho’s economy. In particular, for this phase of data collection, we need completed surveys from folks/clients that have participated in a professionally outfitted/guided activity between October 1, 2021 and May 31, 2022.

It will take 5-7 minutes to complete the survey, and they will not receive any further contact as a result of this survey. The answers they supply will be used for statistical purposes only and will be kept strictly confidential. No individual respondent information will be shared or reported.

For this study to be impactful and truly highlight the economic engine that our industry is, we need your help! Please use the easy email templates provided and the survey link below to collect this important data:

River of Return

For the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes, the Middle Fork of the Salmon River has been their home since time immemorial. They and their people remain inextricably linked with its waters even after a history of forced removal from the landscape and generations of disconnection and trauma. The Middle Fork is a place to reconnect with Mother Earth, to reclaim their culture, and heal amidst the memory traces left by their ancestors.

"River of Return" is a love story with many facets. Like the river, it's an evolving love story for Jessica and Sammy Matsaw, Shoshone-Bannock and co-founders of River Newe. It's about the love between tribal leaders and their youth. And it's about the love they all share for the Salmon River. Follow Jessica and Sammy as they share their story about the power of hope and perseverance, resilience and resurgence, and the vitality of sharing these lands and waters with today's tribal youth and the generations to come.
