Screen Shot 2022-06-03 at 2.53.41 PM.pngAfter an epic quest worthy of the big screen, The Independent Picture House opens on June 24!

But first: on Monday, June 13, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., stop by "The Indie" (4237 Raleigh Street) to get a behind-the-scenes tour of the community cinema you helped build.

During the event, they will announce their opening films, kick off their membership drive, and light the "INDEPENDENT" sign. Say hello to the Independent team, grab a popcorn and soda, and check out Charlotte's only cinema dedicated to foreign and independent movies.

"Charlotte Loves Film" artist Brandon Reese will be in attendance signing copies of this very cool poster.

Kudos!

All the Places We Call Home, the first picture book from Charlotte Lit member and faculty member Patrice Gopo, will be released on June 14.

And, read Patrice's current piece in Brevity, "On Emergence and Transformation: A Timeline Essay."

Irene Blair Honeycutt has two poems in the current issue of Black Moon: "Beyond the Iron Gate" and "Talking to Siri in Pandemic Time." Read them and the entire issue here.
