Our 2022 funded expeditions include:

Kirk Safford, White Rabbit Karst Project - In a winter expedition to the Monashee Mountains of B.C., cavers will push unexplored passages, hoping to connect two caves to advance a Canadian depth record.

Noah Booth,Gateway to the Arctic - The objective of this 850-kilometre canoe journey from Great Slave Lake, Northwest Territories, to Bathurst Inlet, Nunavut is to document on video the ecological and geological diversity of Canada’s Arctic Watershed.

Dave Garrow, Pikialasorsuaq (The Great Upwelling) - The main goal of the expedition is to explore, document and research Pikialasorsauq, “The Great Upwelling,” also known as the North Water Polynya, the largest and most biologically productive polynya in the Arctic and one of the planet’s most important ocean ecosystems. With changing sea ice coverage and quality due to anthropogenic climate change, it is important that Canadians and the world fully understand how delicate and biologically important polynyas are and the impact of reduced sea ice on the function of these natural wonders.
