Greetings -

On behalf of AARP, we are pleased to invite you to join us along with the International Longevity Centre-UK for a timely conversation, Growing the Longevity Economy: Advancing Equity and Health for Sustained Success.  The event will be held at AARP’s national office (601 E Street NW, Washington, DC) on June 21st, 2022 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm, followed by a networking reception.

A disheartening theme in many discussions about the societal implications of aging is that older populations are costly, less productive, and prone to economic stagnation or decline. In reality, research and data show that older people make substantial and ever-increasing contributions to economic activity in North America through their labor, consumption spending, tax contributions, and non-market activities (e.g., volunteering and caregiving).  We need to examine and understand the full economic story of aging populations and their impact on our economies.

We hope that you will join us for a series of interactive discussions as we explore how we can better appreciate and leverage the economic contributions of older people and also address the barriers of inequity that inhibit people from living longer, healthier and more productive lives.

Please register here to attend by June 14, 2022.  We hope that you will attend in-person as we will be following COVID protocols; however, in the event that you cannot it is also possible to register to participate online using the same link.

We look forward to seeing you on June 21!  Please contact Justin Ladner (jladner@aarp.org) if you need any additional information.

Best,
The AARP Thought Leadership Team
