Out and About with RTO7
As restrictions lift, RTO7 staff, most notably Allison Davies, Communication Assistant, has been attending events across BruceGreySimcoe. She spent a day in the Heart of Georgian Bay on the Midland Food Tour and also spent some time at Blue Mountain Resort testing out the various attractions. Thank you to both Kelly Kurtz at Midland Food Tours and Tara Lovell at Blue for inviting Allison on your media fam tours. In case you missed Allison’s social media posts on these events, check out her blog post on the Midland Food Tours and visit our Instagram page (@BruceGreySimcoe) to view her Blue Mountain reel (blog post is under development). She also spent some time at Owen Sound Tourism’s Stop, Drop & Swap event, where she tested out their new free bike rental service (and created another Instagram reel!). Thanks to Melissa Crannie at Owen Sound Tourism for inviting Allison to your event.

If you’re planning a Media Day, Fam Tour or other public event and you’d like Allison to attend, send an email to adavies@rto7.ca

Most Masking Requirements Lifted on June 11th
(Information Source: TIAO)
Dr. Kieran Moore, Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, stated that most of the province’s remaining provincial masking requirements, including on public transit, were to expire as of 12:00 a.m. on June 11, 2022.

On June 11, 2022, remaining Directives were also to be revoked and replaced with Ministry of Health guidance for health care workers and organizations. This includes guidance on when masks should be worn in hospitals and other health care settings.

Masks will still be required in long-term care and retirement homes and masking is recommended in higher-risk congregate living settings, such as shelters and group homes.

While masking requirements are expiring, organizations may implement their own policies. Ontarians should continue to wear a mask if they feel it is right for them, are at high risk for severe illness, recovering from COVID-19, have symptoms of the virus or are a close contact of someone with COVID-19.

The province will continue to monitor for any significant changes, including any new variants of concern.

Please see here for the full government press release.
