Welcome to No Boundaries Furniture Winter E-Letter

Hope you have kept warm and well this winter. It's been lovely and brisk  and there have been wonderful snowy scenes in the Canterbury area to behold.  We send out this email to our family, friends and customers to give a snapshot of what we have been doing this season.  As usual, we have included a few examples of new design, upcycling and restoration. Increasingly, people are asking us to work on their sustainable living projects. Hope you enjoy the E-letter, if not please, unsubscribe at the bottom of the page.  (Image above Canterbury Weather Update).

QUALITY: BUILT TO LAST  WITH OLD FASHIONED CHARM
This free standing linen closet was made from pieces of timber taken from a built in wardrobe in Reiko's 1930's home.
Georgina couldn't find what she was looking for in the shops so had made this American White Ash table and bench seat (above) and matching cabinet (below) for her Castle Hill home.
An American White Rustic Oak  desk that incorporated an architectural drawing table was made for Jennifer's son.
Paul creating  an Ash entertainment unit.
Jacqui and Craig's brought in the left over timber from their home renovation and had a Rimu X dining table made.

Book-loving Kate wanted a very large American White Ash bookcase with a natural honey oil finish for her inner city apartment with 5 metre stud.
These Kathmandu foot benches, made from recycled Rimu with a natural finish, are waiting for pick up and delivery.
CREATIVITY: IF YOU CAN DREAM IT, WE CAN MAKE IT
All Nations church requested these Rustic Oak bar leaners (above) and tables (below) with a natural oil finish after seeing similar ones on our website.
These Ash and Walnut benches were made to match  Annie's custom built dining table (that was in our Autumn E-newsletter).
The traditional legs of this table were removed and replaced with wide recycled Oak legs with a matching stain for an updated look.
Bishop wanted a Rustic Oak games table with very specialized requirements. Some of which were cup holders, angled card slots, and a four piece removable top with spill guards to prevent liquid spilling onto the game below.  Without request, Bishop very kindly sent us the following feedback for our website...

"Paul was friendly, efficient, and helpful. He ensured I was satisfied with the designs and asked pertinent questions to fully understand what it was that I wanted. 100% crafted and delivered what I communicated. Worked with and for me, every step of the way. The game table is fantastic - solid, beautiful, and fits my requirements. The whole family is excited to sit down, dine and play games. Highly recommend No Boundaries Furniture and Paul to all. Genuinely a brilliant craftsman."

...which was greatly appreciated!

SUSTAINABILITY: SAVING THE PLANET ONE PROJECT AT A TIME
Juanita's 1930's stereogram was restored and painted.
Theresa bought this Oak table down south and then had it restored and refinished in a dark stain and oil.
Katrina brought in her decking timber and asked for it to be turned into....
....a large outdoor square coffee table and ....
.... a large plant stand.
Simon, who was disappointed that his trusty favourite knife was failing, requested a new handle.
We receive a huge variety of furniture problems to be solved.  Here is an example.
Justine wanted to restore, not replace, her Rimu set of drawers for environmental reasons.
Brie took a dark brown stain off  Kerrilee's dining table  to reveal the beauty of solid natural Oak and  then applied a natural  Terra colour oil.
CONNECTION: BRINGING PEOPLE TOGETHER
Ross and Sandra bought this fire surround in from their woolshed...yes...the woolshed. Many years ago Ross' dad, at the prospect of unwanted guests, had a 'eureka moment' in the middle of the night where he decided to turn the farm cottage into a shearing shed and it has been used as such for 70 years.  Ross and Sandra are now putting the newly restored fire surround into their new home.
These recycled Rimu school honor boards were made for The Trophy Shop in Sockburn.
Thorrington School needed a new lectern  and stool made to help the shorter pupils be seen.
This was Judy's favourite hide and seek spot (above) when she was a child.  She asked for  the scratches to be removed and for the Honeysuckle cabinet to be fully restored.  It had been lovingly made by her grandfather (below).

These mushroom-like trees are Socotra Dragon Trees  on the island of Socotra in Yemen.
