About Sumeet Tappoo
Sumeet Tappoo, Director of the Sai Prema Foundation, Fiji (SPF) hails from Fiji Islands. He belongs to the illustrious Tappoo family who has been involved in innumerable service activities throughout the Pacific Islands. Sumeet is a third-generation devotee of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
After completing his MBA in Australia, he moved to Mumbai to become a professional singer, as guided by Bhagawan Baba. He has performed in over 1,000 concerts all over the world and has assisted many charitable, social, spiritual, and non-profit organizations. He serves as the Global Youth Coordinator in Swami’s mission.
SPF has established Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Medical Centre, Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Heart Screening Centre, and the Health-On-Wheels Rural Outreach Medical Camps that provide free Medical Care and free meals to the poor and needy people of the Pacific Islands. Most recently, Sumeet’s efforts, aided by many others, materialized in the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Heart Hospital, Fiji. This temple of healing is the first Children’s Heart Hospital in Fiji and the South Pacific where all surgeries, procedures, and interventions take place absolutely free of cost. Sumeet has received many awards globally for his music and his philanthropic activities.

The 27th April, 2022 will be etched in gold as Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Child Heart Centre opened its doors in Suva, Fiji to serve the children and their families in this region. 'Welcome to the Centre of the World' is the warm greeting accorded to all who come to this scenic island nation situated in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Geographically, Fiji stands at the Centre, ushering in the dawn of every new day, first on planet earth. That morning, however, saw a very different dawn when Fiji breathed New Life to its dying children through its very own New Centre, its Sanjeevani. In its very first week, 30 Fijian children, through the efforts of Dr. Shaun Setty and Team lived to see another day. A dawn never seen before!
A Centre is beautiful in many ways. The human heart is often recognised as the Centre of the Human Body. Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani first came up in November 2012, in Naya Raipur located in the Centre of India. India's first ever Heart Shaped Hospital. As many more dot the country, these Child Heart Centres are more than just Centres that heal children's heartts. They touch the very core. Our Centre is our very core. The core of human existence, both as a race and an individual life. It is from here everything emanates and culminates.

Continuation of Surgeries
|

|
The Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital, Fiji was officially inaugurated on April 27, 2022. The hospital’s first cardiac surgery was performed successfully on April 30, 2022. Since then, with Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai's grace, the devoted team of surgeons made up of specialists from numerous countries, untiringly performed 30 cardiac surgeries in nine days. The last patient was discharged on May 10, 2022.

The global Sanjeevani team worked tirelessly to ensure that the children who received surgeries got a renewed life. This "Gift of Life" ceremony in Fiji was a celebration for all parents as their opportunity to raise their children was restored. Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai encouraged all mothers to bring up their children to be good citizens of the world and do more good for society.

The United States is proud of the incredible work being done to save and improve young lives. Chargé d’Affaires Tony Greubel and his wife, Izumi attended the 'Gift of Life' ceremony at the Sai Prema Foundation, Fiji on May 7, 2022.
|
|
|
It was heartwarming for them to see firsthand the life changing impact the surgeries have had on many Fijian children and their families. The surgical team, made up of doctors and nurses from the United States, Australia, and other countries performed multiple surgeries, with the youngest patient being a seven-week-old baby.

|

Sri Sathya Sai Aarogya Vahini is delighted to share the achievement of 1,000 Rural Health Initiatives in India that has been accomplished with much love and kind support. 333 Camps were held amid COVID-19 Pandemic in reaching the Milestone of 1,000 Camps, taking Free of Cost Health to the Last Mile.

The team was humbled with the participation of their Patrons and Support Organizations along with the On-Ground Doctors, Paramedics and Support Team. They also celebrated this momentous occasion with the Trustees and Volunteers who have been bestowed with the opportunity of touching lives through healing, at the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Kolkata, India.
