Southside Partnership DLR - SEED Regeneration Programme
SEED Regeneration Programme Coffee Connect Event

Southside Partnership recently celebrated social enterprise in Dún Laoghaire Rathdown at the SEED Regeneration Programme Coffee Connect event with participating social enterprises, mentors, trainers and guests.

Local Social Enterprises told ‘now is the time to have your say’ as work on a new national policy for Ireland gets underway.

The All-Ireland Social Prescribing Conference in Derry

Our DLR Social Prescribing Team was delighted to be attending the All-Ireland Social Prescribing Network Conference ‘Social Prescribing: Celebrating and Sustaining throughout Ireland” in Derry last week. It was fantastic to meet so many peer practitioners, participants and key stakeholders including the HSE and Minister Frank Feighan, Minister of State for Public Health, Well Being and National Drugs Strategy, involved in advancing social prescribing as a support mechanism for people in our communities. Southside Partnership DLR Supports

Activities with the DLR Social Prescribing Programme 

Why not join our DLR Social Prescribing team for a tour through Dalkey Castle on July 14th or perhaps a tour through the dlr Lexicon library on July 21st 2022? There are also a number of fantastic taster events coming up with the DLR Social Prescribing Programme and many exciting collaborations are planned for autumn 2022. We will also be teaming up with Airfield and Aventine Gardens again to provide the popular 'Growing Wellness' therapeutic gardening programme in autumn. You can contact Lisa at lisa.sieger@sspship.ie or on 087 737 0372 to find out more. 

Separately to our own programme, we would also like to draw your attention to the exciting Summer of Heritage Programme offered by DLR County Council with an wide variety of free walks and tours this summer. The link to their programme is featured in this newsletter below. 

Living Well with Dementia Sweet Memories Choir

The Living Well with Dementia Sweet Memories Choir is a weekly group that is facilitated by a trained Choral Director and is particularly welcoming to people with dementia, their families and carers. DLR Social Prescribing Programme for Health & Wellbeing

What would it be like to have support to improve your health and wellbeing? Are you interested in trying something new or in accessing supports? Would you like to connect with others?
Our Social Prescribing Team will talk to you about what activities interest you or what supports you may need and will then assist you in availing of these activities.

New Popup Uniform Shop at Ballybrack Project Centre

Ballybrack Project Centre are delighted to announce that they will be running their Popup free uniform event for its second year this year. Last year the donations were incredible, and they were able to help a lot of parents in the area which in turn made it a huge success. They will hold a collection point at the Ballybrack Project Centre from the 4th - 15th of July (dates on poster).

The fabulous Summer of Heritage Series will be commencing on the 4th of July, organised by Dun Laoghaire County Council. A wide range of free tours and visits will be available. All tours are free but booking is essential!

HSE Community Healthcare East /Connecting For Life

Suicide Prevention Skills Training on Behalf of Community Healthcare East for Dublin South East, Dublin South and Wicklow. Training is for those living or working in Community Healthcare East for Dublin South East, Dublin South and Wicklow. It is advised that if you have been beavered by suicide within the past 12 months that training would not be suitable. For more details please click here.

CHEER - Community Healthcare East Engagement and Recovery

The purpose of CHEER is to engage in the exchange of positive, accurate information on the developments in their service and on the wide range of opportunities that are open to everyone in their area. Read their June newsletter here.

Computer Applications QQI Level 5

This is a level 5, QQI accredited course and is offered to all those on a social welfare payment.  The course runs from September to June, but participants can opt to undertake individual modules.

Information from An Garda Siochana in Ukrainian and Russian on how to contact them in an Emergency and information on driving in Ireland as a Ukrainian Driving Licence is not valid here also the requirement to have a Motor Insurance.  It may be useful for anyone in the community liaising with the Ukrainian Community. Living Well is an evidence based self-management support programme open to adults living with long-term health conditions. The programme supports them to develop skills which will help them to live well with their long-term health condition. Examples of long-term conditions include COPD, Heart Conditions, Stroke, Diabetes, Asthma, MS and Arthritis. For more information please click here
