EM/2022/25

Additional review of the summary for policymakers of the invasive alien species assessment by Governments now live!

Dear IPBES members,

With reference to notification EM/2022/19, I am pleased to announce the start of the additional review of the summary for policymakers of the invasive alien species assessment. The review is addressed to Governments and is open from 20 July to 15 September 2022.

The IPBES Plenary, at IPBES 9, in the context of improving the effectiveness of the assessment process (objective 6 (c) of the IPBES rolling work programme up to 2030), decided, notwithstanding section 3.1 and related provisions of the procedures for the preparation of IPBES deliverables, to enable Governments to undertake an additional review of the summary for policymakers of the assessment of invasive alien species and their control.

To participate as a reviewer in this additional review, please follow these steps:
  1. Register as a user of the IPBES website (https://ipbes.net/user/register) if you have not already done so;
  2. Log in to the IPBES website and register as a reviewer (Government) for the invasive alien species assessment at https://ipbes.net/registration/invasive-alien-species-assessment/additional-review (this will only work when logged in first as an IPBES website user);
  3. Once registered, you will immediately receive an email providing confidential access to the material and will be requested to submit your comments in English using a template available on the same webpage.

I thank you for your continued support to IPBES.

Yours sincerely,

Dr Anne Larigauderie | Executive Secretary
