 EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

REMINDER: CALL FOR COLLABORATION TO DIGITISE CARBON MARKETS CLOSES TOMORROW

This is a last call for expressions of interest to participate in working groups that will explore digital technologies to transform today’s manual processes in carbon markets. The objective is to facilitate efficient, scalable systems that deliver real, exponential impact, particularly for those most vulnerable to climate change. This is part of the Open Collaboration supported by Google.org Charitable Giving.

Three working groups will address different dimensions of the carbon credit lifecycle:

  1. A ‘Digital Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV)’ working group led by ClimateCHECK, will inform how to upgrade and digitise quantification methodologies as well as verification processes and systems to increase efficiency, quality, and to lower transaction costs for credit generation.
  2. To help bring high-integrity credits to market, a working group led by Gold Standard on ‘Digital Assets for Climate Impact’ will explore how to leverage the advantages of distributed ledger technologies while ensuring safeguards to avoid perverse incentives, double counting and claiming or other risks.
  3. A ‘Digital Infrastructure and Open APIs’ working group led by IOTA Foundation will define core principles for digital market infrastructure to seamlessly connect a quickly growing ecosystem of market participants while promoting trust, transparency, interoperability and access to carbon credits and broader climate solution.

The call for expressions of interest for working groups closes 01 June 2022.

GOLD STANDARD SURVEY 2022

To help enhance the service and support provided, Gold Standard has developed a short survey to capture thoughts and feedback on four key areas:

  1. Standard setting and the certification process
  2. Project developer engagement and support
  3. Impact Registry
  4. Communications

This survey is open to anyone to complete. For Registry users that do not develop projects the survey enables you to skip to the sections most relevant. The survey should take between 5-15 minutes depending on the level of feedback and closes 17 June 2022.

PROJECT DEVELOPER VIRTUAL ROUNDTABLES

In addition to seeking feedback through the Gold Standard Survey 2022, Gold Standard is organising a set of virtual roundtables to hear directly from our community of project developers about the opportunities for growth, challenges that they face, and how Gold Standard can support in a rapidly growing and changing market.

REGISTER FOR PROJECT DEVELOPER ROUNDTABLE

Thank you to all those who have already submitted feedback and/or have registered to attend the virtual roundtables. We look forward to those discussions and to continue to improve the service and support provided.
