Congratulations to our new Equity Officers!

Congratulations to Lindsay McCabe, who has been re-elected as SUPRA’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Officer, and Arash Araghi, who has been elected as SUPRA’s first Higher Degree by Research Student Officer!

They will begin their terms on 1 July 2022.

Academic honesty

Students can face serious consequences if they are found to have engaged in academic dishonesty. Always check the exam rules for each exam so you are not caught using prohibited materials. Headphones are not allowed in exams.

If you receive an allegation of academic dishonesty, contact us for assistance from our professional caseworkers as soon as possible.

Exams are coming

Exams are just around the corner, and while it is important to be prepared, it is just as important to take breaks, eat regularly, and sleep well. This will help you study better!

Talk to your friends and family if you are feeling worried, and contact the Student Counselling Service if you need support.

Special consideration

If you are unable to sit your exam or your exam has been affected by illness, injury or misadventure, you can apply for special consideration.

You must apply within 3 days of the exam. A late special consideration application will only be approved if you have strong supporting documentation. Contact us if you need assistance.

Fun Fact

Green bans are industrial action s taken to protect the environment or heritage. The first green bans were conducted in Australia in the 1970s by the NSW Builders Labourers Federation (BLF). In the early 1970s the BLF threatened the University of Sydney with a green ban on urgent building work when the Professorial Board vetoed a proposed women's studies course. The University then allowed the course to be taught.

What do you think is missing from your student life? Do you have any great ideas to suggest to the Uni?

Fill in our feedback form to tell us your thoughts and ideas. We will take your suggestions to the Uni’s Student Consultative Committee (SCC). The SCC covers student matters, such as your transition and connection to the Usyd postgrad community, physical and virtual spaces, safety, social activities, student support services like counselling, and overall student experience.
