Christian Contemplative Community events and resources as the programming season winds down.

“Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit....”
 John 19:21-22

This month the Easter season has come to completion and we celebrate Pentecost, an important reminded that the Holy Spirit is ever present to guide us. As spring continues to unfold into summer, local Contemplative programming is winding down. In Via Lumen would like to bring your attention to a consolidated list of opportunities and resources that are available in these upcoming months..

Here we also provide some insight into fall offerings here. Future updates will focus on the details of the exciting lineup of Contemplative Events set to be offered this fall.
We continue to keep the situation in Ukraine in our hearts and in our prayers as well as the many senseless and tragic mass shootings that have occurred in various locations in the United States. May our witness to the loss of all life and destruction prompt us to renounce violence and hatred. May our prayers inspire us to find ways to provide assistance to all those suffering and put an end to this needless loss of life as well as the Evil that is behind it.

The Christian Contemplative Experience at Holy Family Retreat Center in West Hartford, CT (CCE) seeks to affirm the oneness of all Christians and to transcend our outward differences by joining together in silent prayer. CCE's purpose is to provide a space where Christians can meet, share and pray together in the contemplative tradition.
Rev. Matthew Wright is coming to share our June 11, 2022 Contemplative Day of Reflection with us. Matthew is an Episcopal priest, writer, and leader working to renew the Christian Wisdom tradition within a wider inter-spiritual framework. He is a senior student of Cynthia Bourgeault. Alongside his practice of Christianity, Matthew has studied and practiced within the Islamic Sufi and Vedanta lineages.
The wonderful 2021-2022 Christian Contemplative Experience Retreat season is concluding with our Annual Day of Reflection on Saturday June 11 from 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time. The Christian Contemplative Experience is delighted to welcome back Reverend Matthew Wright to lead the day on The way of the Heart: Mysticism Across Spiritual Traditions. During this spacious day of learning, prayer, community and retreat, Matthew will enlarge the sacred space for heart opening and Intermystical understanding. True to his previous presentations, this day promises to be filled with Matthew's deep wisdom and presence while giving participants a rich Interspiritual perspective.

More information about the Contemplative Day of Reflection is available here: You can attend this session in-person or online over Zoom. The Zoom recordings of Matthew's Conferences will be made available to those who have registered to attend. Body Presence and Contemplative AwarenessOur bodies are warehouses of our life experiences, and they connect us directly to the rest of Creation and to God. Getting in touch with how our bodies react to our daily experiences leads to integration and healing while also opening us up to a direct connection to Creation and God "In whom we live and move and have our Being" (Acts 17:28).
Upcoming Body Presence (BioSpiritual Focusing) events:
