Portland born and bred, Dennis oversees all our Lovejoy Deli operations. With a degree in culinary arts and over 30 years of experience, he’s worked in top restaurant kitchens all around Portland and as a market chef for several major grocery markets – we’re lucky to have him. A food lover and all-round nice guy, he’s super enthusiastic and proud to offer fresh, chef-made, from scratch foods in the deli case along with charcuterie (including prosciuttos and salami’s you can’t get anywhere else) and a wide variety of specialty cheeses.
Life at the deli starts at 6am with the creation of house-made breakfast burritos (THE top seller), hand-made ficelles, wraps and fresh salads (nothing comes out of a bag here!) Next: roasting meats (TriTip is the top seller), sautéing fresh seasonal veggies and cooking up our creamy, cheesy house Mac’n Cheese for dinner. Dennis is passionate about the food he makes and deeply committed to his team, “I always want to train people, give people the tools and show them how to have fun with food, show them the passion.”
