Update

Dear <<First Name>>,

Welcome to winter! The cold season is definitely here with the alps receiving a fantastic amount of snow already, and a number of flurries in Stanley plus Beechworth and the upper valleys recording a few flakes right on the first of the month.

Winter is always a busy time for Landcare with many plants to go in the ground and we also have a number of funding opportunities open at the moment. Navigate or scroll down to Funding Opportunities to see what grants are currently open, and reach out to your local Landcare group and facilitator if you have any ideas and are able to support a project over the coming year.

The Ovens Landcare Network AGM will be coming up in the next couple of months and we are seeking new and enthusiastic committee members who would like to help our network as we aim to continue to strengthen and support Landcare in our area.

Stay warm and dry everyone!
- Penny and Kerrie

Healthy Hectares in North East Victoria

Healthy Hectares is a program that has been specifically developed to help small landholders learn the in and outs of effectively managing their land in North East Victoria. Whole farm planning can seem daunting to new and smaller landholders, and the Healthy Hectares program sets out to break this down into small, hands on workshops that allow landholders to gain confidence and the skills to effectively manage their properties to be assets for them, and for the larger landscape.
Over the next year, the Ovens Landcare Network is teaming up with neighbouring Landcare networks Wodonga Urban Landcare Network and the Kiewa Catchment Landcare Groups to continue to run this excellent program. On the 24th of July Healthy Hectares will be running two introductory sessions that are open to everyone interested  in learning what Healthy Hectares is all about. These information sessions introduce you to the Healthy Hectares NE program and how it will help you better manage your land through the development of a whole farm plan.
These sessions will be at: For any further information contact Healthy Hectares Project Officer - David Thorpe 0400 740 791 or healthyhectaresne@wodongalandcare.org.au.
