The end of year brings bittersweet goodbyes. West Lake has several faculty and staff members moving on to new adventures and they will be sorely missed.  Thank you for all the time, talent and love you've shared with us this year; we will miss you!

A Message from Mr. Mack:
What a wonderful two years it has been. I couldn't have asked for a better school to be a part of. There are so many amazing teachers here and I marvel at the dedication to your craft and since care for your students.  A special thanks goes out to my students and my science team, your words of encouragement on long days and your insight for more effective lessons was my saving grace! Where would the world be without the incredible teachers that you are.  I wish you all the best!
Sincerely Your biggest fan
Mr. Mack

A Message From Mr. Huntington
"We're all just walking each other home." Ram Dass
I recently came across this quote and ever since, I have felt like this is what it means to be a teacher. Our hope as teachers is that in the short walks, we get with each of our students, we can help them be a little better and help them find their own self worth. Thanks West Lake for a great 2 years working with you all!

A Message From Mr. Marsing
Dear West Lake Community,
It has been such an incredible journey to be a part of the West Lake Family!! I have served this community for 5 of the last 6 years. Being  a teacher has been the pride and honor of my life; it has been so fulfilling to see so many of my previous students cross that finish line and graduate. I’ve loved seeing students grow from year to year, and getting to teach siblings of previous students. :)
Friday, I interview with Granite's Y.E.S.S. program, so keep your fingers crossed for me! If I don't get that teaching position, I plan to work with my friends in their window business for a year or two. The reason for this is to try and make a truck load of money in a short amount of time, and then return to teaching. 🙂 I am a bit a strange person;  I like to move around frequently so I can try new things and be sure that I am always growing.
For those of you that know me well, it won't come as a surprise that I care deeply for these students. They have been such a light in my life as I have struggled in my personal life for the last few years. It gives me profound comfort and joy that they are being cared for by the incredible educators of West Lake STEM. They are being left in the best possible hands. I will watch and cheer on WL from a distance, know that I will always cherish the memories and experiences that I have had these past years! Proud to be a Mustang. :)
Thanks,
Tucker Marsing

A Message From Mrs. Lowry
“How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” - A.A. Milne
The past year at West Lake has honestly been one of the happiest and most rewarding of my career, which makes this goodbye all the more difficult.  I will be forever grateful for the wonderful students, teachers and staff who have welcomed me to the school and made me feel like family from day one. Your friendly greetings, secret handshakes, jokes, singing, dancing, laughter and enriching conversations brightened my day every single day. I'll deeply miss our interactions, but promise to carry the West Lake spirit with me as I move on to my next adventure. Once a Mustang, always a Mustang!
