June News
Hello everyone -
May was a hard month for us. The news from Uvalde left us broken hearted with the rest of the country. John and I visited Uvalde two years ago, and we stayed at an Airbnb a couple of nights. We loved the town and nearby swimming holes, and we had been saying recently how we'd like to go visit again. Our visit to Uvalde in 2020 lifted our spirits and gave us some joy during lockdown with covid. Our hearts ache for everyone there and all those affected by gun violence. If you are like us and want a change, join us in your town on June 11th.
We also lost our sweet cat Migo last month. Migo was our constant companion during the pandemic. We never knew how close we would become and how much we would rely on and treasure his presence. It was just the three of us 24/7 for the past few years. We miss his morning wake up calls, his constant talking, his hugs (yes he hugged us). He was a regular on zoom meetings and zoom concerts and he was so, so much more. We miss him terribly.
We did find some joy last month with being able to gather and see friends at both the Kerrville Folk Festival and the Folk Alliance International Conference. These are two annual events we've not been able to do in person for way too long. Being able to see friends once again and immerse ourselves in live music brought us some healing we truly needed.

Speaking of Folk Alliance, Matt The Electrician, BettySoo and JM Stevens each had terrific showcases at the FAI conference last month. Although there were fewer attendees than usual with 1200 folks or so, it was so good to see everyone we did and reconnect. If you were there, drop us a line and let us know some of your favorite moments from FAI this year.

- Curtis McMurtry, JM Stevens, Nathan Hamilton will be all be helping launch regular music at Easy Tiger North. Let us know if you want to meet up for a beer.
- BettySoo will be touring with James McMurtry again this month. Her last show is Philadelphia on June 24th, and she would love to play a couple shows on her way back to Texas. Reach out if you would like to host one.
- Beaver Nelson continues his Saturday night residency at the Continental Gallery. __________________
