FOREWORD

The first anniversary of CIMPA project is approaching! This H2020 project was launched on 15 June 2021 and since then, CIMPA partners have been working towards the recyclability and circularity of multilayer plastic films.  Now we are entering an even more exciting stage as the first concrete results are obtained
 
In this newsletter you will find updates about progress and outcomes, information about our participation in congresses and fairs, as well as opportunities for networking.

JOIN US AT THE ERC 

A dedicated session about CIMPA project will take place during the European Recycling Conference in Madrid, on 15 June, from 15:45 to 16:30. CIMPA partners will discuss on the last developments of the project and the ongoing research towards the circularity of multilayer plastic films.

 CIMPA AT THE PRS 2022

CIMPA will take part in the Plastics Recycling Show Europe in Amsterdam, on 22-23 June 2022. Meet us on Stand K60, we will be there to tell you about our H2020 project and its outcomes!

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS 

CIMPA’s members worked on a questionnaire to collect data from recyclers and collecting institutions. These data aimed to address technical requirements for waste films packaging sorting and recycling. Read the article to know more about the results of the survey.

SPREADING THE WORD

Promoting CIMPA project and explaining its objectives and results are key components of this H2020 project. Last April, Jean Matthieu BROUILLAT, R&D Manager at Leygatech introduced the innovative technologies that are being developed within CIMPA project at the MeetingPack Conference in Valencia.

COLLABORATIONS

CIMPA establishes direct connections with different networks and initiatives to inform them about the project results and explore ways of collaborations. Related projects and initiatives are listed here.

A new collaboration with TERMINUS project has recently started. This H2020 project addresses the challenge of unlocking recycling and reuse of flexible multi-layer and multi-compounds packaging. In the upcoming months, different activities will be organized in cooperation with TERMINUS team. 

TERMINUS aims at unlocking the recycling of such packaging via a range of smart enzyme-containing polymers with triggered intrinsic self-biodegradation properties
