Tuesday, June 14th - 6 - 7:30 pm
The Stone Jetty Cafe
Join us for a great opportunity to hear our MAC member Priscilla Edwards talk about her creative practice, processes and inspiration. Priscilla’s new book – Sculptural Textile Art has just launched this month and she will share with us a unique insight into how the book came together.
Priscilla’s contemporary mixed media artworks offer a refreshingly different approach to embroidery, taking stitch to an impressive new level within wire sculpture.

|
|
With her imaginative use of the needle and her love of retro vintage nostalgia, Priscilla has picked up on an enduring trend, exploring excitingly different ideas and pushing the boundaries with her original ways of working.
The evening will also be a great opportunity to meet and chat with other MAC members.

3rd - 12th June
Venus & Cupid Arts Trust
Morecambe Bay Arndale
Where will we be five years from now? Local students make art to explore some of the challenges we're all facing.
Groups of young people from schools and community groups have been participating in Future5, a creative multimedia project.
|
|
|
Participants have been creating work that explores their hopes for the future - and what they think we can all do to make a difference. They have been working with sound artists, spoken word artists, and filmmakers to produce imaginative and short videos. The films are abstract explorations of what the young people think our biggest challenges will be over the next five years. Their work will be displayed in the Arndale Centre from 3rd - 12th June, before being locked in a digital time capsule for the next five years.
Future5 is part of the ‘Our Place in the World’ programme. The programme is managed by the Culture Co-op, and Future5 has been made possible thanks to Venus & Cupid Arts Trust, Lancashire Youth Challenge, Lancaster University, and Curious Minds.
