THE MIDTOWN CONNECTION
June 16th, 2022

Welcome to the Midtown Community Church newsletter! Here you will find information to connect with the people and ministries at Midtown as we seek to be renewed by Jesus Christ for the purpose of drawing people into community, growing as an authentic worshipping community, and sending them out to renew and create communities locally and globally.

SUMMER SERMON SERIES

9:15AM  2011 Ridge Road

Summer Sermon Series Began June 5th!  This Summer we will be doing a sermon series entitled "The Way of Wisdom: Lessons From Proverbs."  Life is messy and filled with so many difficult decisions.  From navigating relationships, parenting, work, and our own stuff.  Bottom line is that we need wisdom.  Join us for worship this Summer as we use the Old Testament book of Proverbs as a blueprint for the wisdom that we need in life.  In preparation for this series, we would encourage you to read a Proverb a day for the month of June.

Worship with us in-person or via livestream on our YouTube Channel.

Our Children's Ministry accommodates 9-months through age 3 in the summer months. We will return classes for age 4 through 5th grade this fall.

Pastoral Resource: Domestic Abuse & Sexual Assault Report
As many of you are aware, there has been a lot of recent news on the topic of abuse in the church, especially in light of significant allegations in the Southern Baptist Convention.  Our denomination, the Presbyterian Church in America, recently published the work of a study committee looking into this topic.  Prominent voices like Rachael Denhollander and Dr. Diane Langberg offered their direct assistance to our denomination in addressing this issue.  Feel free to read their findings on how the church can address this issue.  Please know that if you want to talk further on this topic, feel free to reach out to the Session and Women's Shepherding Team of our church.
