Presidents Letter

Hello Members and Friends,

Promoting, providing, educating, ensuring, preserving-- each of these words were pulled from our mission statement and speak to us about our collective vision for this new season.  As the wife of an artist who has been a part of Arrowhead Gallery and Studios since 2013,  I am excited to assume a more active role as your President

The gallery has grown so much since 2013 and that growth has hinged on the hard work, dedication and perseverance of so many. As I walk through the gallery today, I recall when the building was being transformed from a manufacturing site to a gallery.  Unfinished sheet rock walls and cold concrete floors are now filled with art that has made and will continue to make a huge impact on our town and the people who step inside the gallery.

As we move forward and strive to increase our impact,  I ask that each of you join me in assuming an active role.  We have so many great things happening in the gallery--abundant class offerings, the inclusion of so many artistic mediums,  new artists and artisans and a growing, more vibrant downtown.  We are extending our summer weekend gallery hours in an effort to increase the number of visitors and in turn, to increase our sales.  That can’t happen without gallery sitters.  Please consider volunteering to help with coverage.

It goes without saying that all of us send our heartfelt gratitude to Liz who has led us as President for the last three years. Her time, energy and passion for this organization has not gone unnoticed.

I am looking forward to working closely with you to embrace all of the opportunities that we have to promote and preserve art in Old Fort. Please be sure to check out our Shows/Exhibits line up. The July/August show, “Catalyst” reminds us that through our promotion of art in this community, we can create positive change.
