The website features collections of children’s picture books and Young Adult (YA) titles which showcase themed stories of Asia. This platform is a resource hub and tool that empowers readers to be aware, informed and involved in sustaining a better world for their future selves and others.

The refreshed Themed Children’s Books website brings a new themed collection of children's books that address the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) with a focus on Asia! From topics of sustainability to equal rights, the new list aims to support the learning and understanding of the principles through picture books to books for young adults for children of all ages.

Words Go Round 2022 brought exciting programmes to several schools such as the Canadian International School, Jing Shan Primary School and Riverside Primary School over the past weeks!

The students learnt to draft a striking opening paragraph for their stories with Ross Welford. They also enjoyed Liew Jia Yi’s interactive storytelling session of Pinto’s Pinky Promises with hand puppets of the characters from the book! Caldecott medallist Jason Chin demonstrated a watercolour painting of the characters from his award-winning book, Watercress, as part of a virtual studio tour of his workspace. How can poetry enlighten its readers and writers in inhabiting Earth with attention and care? Esther Vincent’s work as an editor and poet engages with nature, culture, the environment and ecology.

Esther is the author of Red Earth, an ecofeminist poetry collection offering meditations on place and the making of home amid the ever-increasing racket of society. Explore the new genre of ecopoetry in this workshop! You will read and discuss a range of ecopoems, engage in creative writing exercises and discover innovative ways you can draft your creative writing to incorporate themes of nature and enhance your eco-message to your readers!
