It's the perfect weather to sit on the porch and read ...
Assuming you've applied bug spray, and have a fan and/or sweatshirt, and you make sure your book doesn't get wet. I guess what I'm saying is, check the weather forecast, first. After all, you can sit inside and read. I used to read while sitting in the car, back when I'd be waiting on my kids and their various activities, but one day I discovered the magic of laptops and started writing in the car, instead. It's not as relaxing.
Meanwhile, something odd happened in the Hunter back yard, when I saw new blooms ... on a tree.

What we have here is a tulip poplar tree, which is apparently not a poplar, but a magnolia. I knew none of this. My wife figured it out immediately, and that's the first time I ever remember hearing the term "tulip poplar". They're said to reliably bloom every year, but I've lived in that house over thirty years and have no memory of ever seeing it bloom.
Maybe I should have looked up more. Oh, wait--I look up a lot. *sigh* A few years ago we cut down its neighboring tree, which had died and was even bigger than this one, so I'd guess that had something to do with it. What, I don't know. Anyone have any theories? More likely I just never noticed the blossoms ... which is kind of sad.
That's par for the course, because there's a cherry tree growing in the middle of one of my lilac bushes, and an apple tree growing in the middle of the other one--they both blossomed last year, and I'd never noticed them before!
