These fantastic assets have all been created and maintained by your residents’ association working with families here.

Pavers in the park

Huge interest from you all out there! We are working with PCC and Wellington Water to ensure that we can include everyone who is keen for a family paver. If you responded to pimmertonra@gmail.com expressing interest you will hear from us very soon.  Thanks!

Community Shed moving

And thanks for all the support on Facebook and plimmertonra@gmail.com for the shed team and their work in our community. News soon about the reconfiguration of the end of Plimmerton Domain currently occupied by the Downer team working on the platform and underpass area.

News from KiwiRail

The PACE project is running on time and is on track (sorry) and there will be closures over both Queen’s Birthday and Labour Weekend as crucial work is completed at both the level crossing and in the underpass area.

Check out this letter from KiwiRail for details of upcoming work that may affect you. Residents directly impacted have been communicated with by KiwiRail and there will be letters, visits and posters to explain each stage of work between now and Easter 2023.

Any questions should be addressed to the KiwRail team:

Big things are happening…

Plimmerton is being impacted by several large projects and your residents’ association is working with agencies like KiwiRail, Greater Wellington Regional Council, Waka Kotahi, Wellington Water and others to minimise disruption.

We can always use positive people to help us. Check out our 2022-23 plan here and join us.

Tagger in Plimmerton Domain

Anyone knowing who the persistent fence tagger in the domain is should contact Police on 105. Ratepayers would like to know who this misguided individual whose vandalism is costing ratepayers money.

If you know this person advise them to find a forum for their opinions that does not involve damaging public property.

Repairing vandalised property and removing tags costs Porirua City Council thousands every year that could be more used positively in our community.

Street groups settling in

Progress continues to be made in establishing street groups in Plimmerton Camborne.

Thanks to everyone who has been helping those isolated or unwell with shopping, picking up meds, dropping off meals and walking dogs! We have heard some wonderful stories of kindness and generosity.

Street group coordinators report that they are getting organised and some have set up smaller groups within their streets. Steyne Ave and the streets off it are covered now. Special mention in despatches to Deirdre Dale who has done sterling work engaging residents. Ogilvy Terrace has two groups being set up and the coordinators will be in touch with residents in that street soon.

If you are not yet active in your street group find out more on our community website here.

The only streets with no coordinators in place yet are School Road and Roy’s Road. We hope to hear from residents there soon that they have themselves sorted as both areas could be vulnerable in different emergency situations.

There will be an excellent event soon for coordinators to meet key civil defence management figures and see the whole professional set up that swings into action in any emergency situation. Coordinators should keep an eye on their Facebook page and/or watch out for an email from Sam.

Emergency services can respond more effectively and faster to any emergency scenario when they have a key contact who can help them to find the most vulnerable.

Chippie in safe hands

Please give a warm Plimmerton welcome to Skye and Denise who have taken over at Plimmerton Fish Supply.

This mother daughter combo brings experience to the job with Skye having ten years hospo experience and mum Denise has owned a cafe and has years of experience in food and grocery. They live in Pukerua Bay and Skye spent four months working with Athena and Peter before taking over the business.

They are maintaining the standards of excellence in everyone’s favourites and have ideas for some interesting additions. Anyone for chips and gravy?
