SUPPORT UKRAINE:
AFA connects fashion scenes
Promoting and supporting the networking between designers, business, culture and creative people is one of the main focuses of the Austrian Fashion Association.
In this spirit, we now hope to offer space to Ukrainian fashion designers and other creatives working in the field of fashion, to make their stories heard and connect with the Austrian fashion industry via our channels.
The Austrian Fashion Association also acts as a matchmaker between Austrian and Ukrainian creative people in the fashion sector and would like to bring together Ukrainians who are looking for a job or freelance work in Austria with people/companies here that offer jobs in the respective areas.

Diana Onatskaya is a stylist and art director. She comes from Kyiv and describes her recent experiences like this:
"When the war started, I woke up to the blatant noises at home and the first thing I did was to call all my relatives and friends to find out how and where they were. My relatives also live in Kyiv, so we all decided to quickly to gather and make our way to the west of Ukraine. We decided that I had to go abroad, my relatives stayed behind. I flew to Milan because it is one of the most important cities in my line of business. The first month was the most difficult one, I decided to fly to Tbilisi, Georgia and realize two projects there. Now I'm going back to Milan to live in this city and further develop my career."

Accessories label Nebo v Kvitah was founded in 2015 by friends Ira and Lily, who have been present on Ukrainian and international markets with their hair wreaths. They wrote us this:
"There are six amazing girls in our team, some of whom unfortunately had to leave their homes because of the terrible war and move to western Ukraine and Europe to take their children to safety. Now we are all far apart, but we were able to organize our label in such a way that we can continue to work, because our salary is the only possible income for some of our girls.
It is important for us to support each other during these dark months and show the world that we are a strong and kind nation. That, despite this difficult time, we are doing everything possible and impossible to continue creating jewellery, continue to adorn women, so that even now they do not forget that they are beautiful and that life goes on."

"I was forced to leave my country and my job. I can no longer work in Ukraine as my production and distribution centers are in Mykolayiv, the city on the front line of the struggle. I had to worry about the safety of my 7- year-old son and flee to Europe. I am currently in Vienna and open to job offers and cooperation.
I am very grateful for your strong support of Ukraine, you know how important it is now."
