Important information about Sunday’s Jubilee event

Good afternoon to you all,

We are so looking forward to seeing you on Sunday up at The Meads to join the country in celebrating The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

As you know we are expecting the event to be quite busy with many people attending our Picnic.

To ensure EVERYONE has a relaxing and enjoyable day please take the time to read and absorb a few pointers for the day.

Tickets – Please bring your tickets or have your Eventbrite code to show us at the gates onto the Meads.

Cars/Drop&Go/Parking

***The High Road will be closed from 14.00 - 18.15**

This is the section from Doghurst along to the road behind the White Hart

There is NO parking on the field.

We encourage as many of you as possible to walk. Hazelwood Lane will remain open and the Meads car park. However, this will fill up VERY quickly so please if you do have to drive maybe drop off your picnic bits, chairs, blankets etc at the entrance and park further away.

We suggest dropping off your gazebo/chairs/rugs etc at around 1.45pm. The road will close at 2pm.

If you need to drop anyone off we suggest doing so in the road behind the White Hart and they can access the meads via the kissing gate opposite -this road will remain open but bear in mind it is a small narrow road!

We have tried to source parking from other local nearby clubs but to no avail so please park safely and responsibly if you do have to drive.

Cash – please bring plenty of cash as we will have some vendors that are cash only (face painting/bouncy castle etc)

Toilets – they are limited, the Bowls club and Rugby Club have toilets but not very many so just bear that in mind!

Glass- please avoid bringing glass glasses to The Meads. - There are some very lovely camping champagne flutes on the market at the moment.

Rubbish - PLEASE PLEASE TAKE YOUR RUBBISH HOME!!!

We will have bins around the Meads but we really want to avoid having any issues with litter being left and spending all night picking up litter. Thank you for your help.

Rugs - Please bring rugs/chairs and a celebration picnic – we have a small selection of food vendors joining us for those who might get a bit peckish later on.

Music - Our 8-piece jazz-swing band will be performing from 2pm onwards.

We are planning a Jubilee Singsong at the end of the afternoon so bring your best singing voices and your flags to wave. Song sheets will be provided.

Dog show – YES, a Dog show - bring your 4-legged friends! We have a best dressed dog category.

It’s going to be a highlight!!

Thanks to the wonderful Hayman’s Gin and Ludlow Lane Solicitors for sponsoring this wonderful occasion and helping us make it possible - Please take the time to say hello if you meet them during the course of the afternoon, they will be around the CRA tent during the course of the afternoon.

And finally, we, the CRA, really hope that everyone has a wonderful time together on Sunday. We have all worked very hard to put together what we hope will be an awesome event!!

Thank you for your patience if things don’t run completely to plan - this is the first time we have done an event like this.

With our very best wishes to you All

See you on Sunday
