Hey <<First Name>>,

One of the toughest challenges for young people is dealing with conflict — that can be bullying, social exclusion, or just a misunderstanding between friends getting out of hand.

Many young people aren’t emotionally equipped with the knowledge and skills to navigate these situations. It falls to us as educators to help them learn what they need to know to address conflict healthily and constructively.

Carey Goldstein (Director of Owning Up Programs) recently gave an interview on why we should transform the term Relational Aggression to Conflict Resolution for a podcast. She discusses the complicated social world of young people, how teachers can work with students to create a safer environment for everyone, and an approach to Conflict Resolution rooted in dignity.

Listen to Carey’s interview and read our accompanying blog on Relational Aggression and Conflict Resolution to understand these evergreen issues and learn how to create teachable moments in a school setting!
