Bears in Excess started in April of 2012. The main purpose of the event is so bears, cubs, daddies, chubs, and their admirers who live in the Greater Toronto Area or the many visitors to our lovely city, can go to have some fun in a spa-like setting.
We have two events under the Bears in Excess name: Bears in Excess and Chubs at the Tubs. These events are done in conjunction with Spa Excess, but are not part of any bear group.

Issue #93 | June 2022
Dear<<First Name>>
Finally, we are getting summer weather, so come down to Spa Excess and socialize with the bears, cubs, otters, and admirers for Bears in Excess this Sunday, June 5, between 1 and 6 p.m. (Spa Excess – 105 Carlton St) to reconnect with old friends and meet some new ones. Don’t forget to go up to the roof garden and catch some rays (without worrying about getting a tan line)!
We had a great turnout at our last event, with around 145 guys. The lounge was full of guys watching the Best Beard Contest. We had seven contestants and here are the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners from left to right: Eric, Mike, and Nick. A big thanks go out toHank Skin Carefor providing prizes for each of the winners.
A special prize!
Speaking about prizes, we will be giving away a beautifully carved wood cheese board perfect for every occasion, graciously donated by Bearfare. Handcrafted from an assortment of premium wood species wenge, maple, and bloodwood, these unique trays work for serving meat and cheese to the most ravenous of guests or alone as a decorative centerpiece.
It has a logo-embossed leather handle for carrying. Or when you are not using it, you can mount it on the wall. It also has rubber feet to protect your board and countertop. A mineral oil sample is included for first-time seasoning.
Handmade by master craftsmen in the US, it is valued at $125.
