We all have some version of the way our lives are supposed to play out.
And we all deal with various degrees of disappointment, pain, and regret because of that gap. Between what we want or who we want to be, and what we experience. Between who we are now, and who we thought we’d become.
We might watch celebrities or others on shows and think, “Must be nice”. We look at a couple and think, “I wish my relationship looked like theirs”. We’ve tried to work hard, but we are unsure of what do to about the scary prospects of our financial situation.
What faith provides is an antidote to the addictions of our world that feed this notion that we need to possess some version of “the good life” it offers us.
That if we chase after the shiny things, we’ll eventually get them and we will have “made it”. Maybe we’ll land that dream school or dream job and it will answer all the ways my life feels unfulfilled. Or we’ll just somehow figure out on our own how to be content, one day…
The world offers us the good life. Faith invites us into a life that is good. Join us this June as we explore the letter of Titus and discover the difference between the two.
We hope that you will join us at Rainier View, and you’ll invite someone else along for the discussion!
