Our summer camps are starting soon! So far, we have over 600 campers registered for our 7 weeks of camp.
Recent events in our part of the world are resulting in desperate challenges for many families. Some are fleeing trouble while others face financial and other insecurities. As a result, there are many kids that greatly need a time of peace and hope that our summer camp offers, but could never afford the cost. That’s why we have set a goal for this summer of an additional $20,000 in donations to our camp scholarship fund. This will make 100 additional scholarships available, so that kids in difficult and sometimes traumatic situations can come to our camps and hear the Gospel while spending a week in a loving, safe environment.

A school year finished well

Another year of our Bible Institute has ended, and what a blessing it was! Our graduation ceremony was on May 28th, where we celebrated with nearly 60 students.
These last several weeks of the students’ time here was an amazing testament to how God has grown them and can use their faithfulness.
This spring our staff and students went on mission trips all over Europe, partnering with churches and ministries to share the Gospel.

One of the biggest differences between Bosnia and other European countries is that the main religion there is Islam. On our way there we were surprised to see mosques even in the smallest villages. Talking with locals we noticed how diligently and religiously active they practiced Islam. Nevertheless, the majority seemed to be believing in Islam because of family and tradition, not a conviction.

The need for the Gospel in Bosnia is seen clearly. Christians in Bosnia are sincere and "genuine". To profess Christ in a Muslim society means shame, hardship, and oppression.
One of the biggest contributions our team was able to achieve was the renovation of the local church. Though we did not plan to renovate the church at the beginning, we started doing it because it was one of the biggest needs they had.
One of the key lessons we learned was to adapt to a culture where people do not plan their daily schedule and are very spontaneous. Nevertheless, at the end of the trip, we saw that we do not need minute-by-minute schedules to be effectively used by God". - Arnas V. from Lithuania

Each year, we teach young people willing to dedicate 1-2 years of their life to study God’s Word and prepare for life and ministry. You can be a part of this! For over 3 decades, our ministries have been made possible in large part thanks to the donations of faithful partners who join us in God’s work by giving financially to the work here. We would like to share with you a few needs we have identified for our day-to-day operations. Each of these areas plays an important role in fulfilling our mission to get the Gospel to the youth of Hungary and the world, and to be able disciple the young people who come to our campus.

Word of Life Hungary reaches out to minister in churches and schools and satellite camps, proclaim the Gospel on the streets of Budapest, and minister in other ways in Hungary and other European countries. A typical trip can result in hundreds of young people and kids hearing the Gospel in, for example, a local school. To get to these opportunities, our fleet vehicles are our lifeblood. However, our current vehicles are all more than 15 years old, have high mileage, are not fuel efficient and are costing us much in repairs. We would like to replace these with at least two new, low maintenance, highly fuel efficient and safe vehicles, that would enable our staff and students to carry out the work that they are so willing to do. The total cost of these vehicles is $100,000.

For more than thirty years, God has allowed Word of Life Hungary to reach literally tens of thousands of people who have stayed at our beautiful castle property. Campers, Bible Institute students, pastors, retreat groups, and many other guests have come to this place. Many have left with new life in Christ, spiritual renewal, and encouragement. But it is now time to replace and renovate several things that were already here when we got the Castle in 1989. The following are needed as we prepare thousands of meals and provide clean facilities for tomorrow’s guests:
• New kitchenware for the dining room ($3,000)
• A new commercial walk-in fridge ($15,000)
• Complete renovation of the main Castle men’s restroom ($6,500)
The total for all these projects is $30,000. This is ultimately an investment in the thousands of people who will come here in the years to come.

Our gear has reached its completeness as it has been used for almost 7 years. It is time for an upgrade. Creating and marketing quality digital content is a prerequisite in reaching young people in today's online world, where youth spend most of their time. Our aim is to upgrade our equipment in such a way, that enables us to attract more young people to our camps and other ministries, so they can too hear about the saving grace of Jesus Christ and grow in their faith!
