Leadership Program - Off and Running!

We were thrilled this week to officially kick off the planning for our new Regional Leadership Development Program with a community consultation workshop held in Mount Gambier.

Participants enjoyed the opportunity to learn about community leadership in the Limestone Coast and to discuss what the region’s leadership could look like in the future.

Peta Crewe, General Manager, Regions at Department of Primary Industries and Regions (PIRSA) spoke about the origins and journey of the previous Limestone Coast Leadership Program (LCLP) and how that has led to where we are today.

We heard from Hayley Neumann, Dr Melissa Fraser and Michael Millhouse, graduates of the LCLP, who shared their highlights and spoke about what their leadership development experiences meant to them.

Facilitator Louise Stock then led the cohort through a series of discussion questions based on the leadership development needs of our region.

We would like to extend our thanks to all who attended the workshop. It was a very productive session and your input into the planning of our new leadership program is extremely valuable.

If you were not able to attend the workshop, it is not too late to have your say! Enter your details here and we will send you a link to the video of the workshop presentations, as well as a questionnaire where you can share your views on community leadership in the Limestone Coast.

Regional Development Australia Limestone Coast (RDALC) will be developing and implementing the Regional Leadership Program over the next two years thanks to State Government funding. The program will see more than 60 current and future leaders in the Limestone Coast enhance their skills, form stronger community connections, and create a diverse leadership network across the region.

For enquiries regarding the Regional Leadership Development Program, please contact Jess Carolane, on (08) 8723 1057 or email jess@rdalc.org.au

The 2021 Census of Population and Housing was conducted on 10 August 2021. Since then the team at .id have been waiting patiently for the Australian Bureau of Statistics to process the data for release. This normally takes about 10 months, so they have been expecting a release date around June 2022.

The team at .id (and at RDALC) are super excited as we have a release date! The ABS has announced that the first release of Census data will be on 28 June 2022.

This will include a lot of datasets in standard ABS products such as Quickstats and also – more importantly for .id and its users  – the underlying raw dataset. This forms the basis for the update of the demographic information tools, particularly the Local Government community profiles and social atlases, but also the population forecastshousing monitors and economic profiles. The Census data also support the .id living in place tool.
