Het Politicologenetmaal 2022 (Annual Political Science Workshops of the Low Countries) van 16-17 juni 2022 in Nijmegen gaat bijna van start. We kijken er allemaal vol spanning naar uit: het Etmaal gaat over twee weken nu écht gebeuren! Er zijn 12 workshops en in totaal 120 deelnemers. De deadline voor registratie aan het Etmaal is vrijdag 3 juni. Het programma is als volgt: de Algemene Ledenvergadering (ALV) van de NKWP vindt plaats in de ochtend voorafgaand aan de start van het Etmaal (10.45-11.45) in zaal EOS 01.550 in het Elinor Ostrom gebouw. De workshops starten na de lunch om 13.00. Op donderdagavond zijn er ook plenaire activiteiten: de winnaars van de Els Witte prijs en de Daniel Heinsiusprijs worden bekend gemaakt en er is een Roundtable die dit jaar zal gaan over The Russian Invasion in Ukraine met voordrachten door Prof. dr. Wim van Meurs, Prof. dr. Sophie Vanhoonacker-Kormoss, en Prof. dr. Bertjan Verbeek, gemodereerd door Lema Salah. De workshops gaan op vrijdag 17 juni door en eindigen rond 12.30.
Onze secretaris wil de leden nog even helpen herinneren dat het lidmaatschap een heel kalender jaar geldt. Artikel 7 (lid 2) van de statuten geeft aan hoe het lidmaatschap op te zeggen is (verdere details op de website). Hier is een belangrijke passage “Opzegging van het lidmaatschap door het lid kan slechts geschieden tegen het einde van een verenigingsjaar. Zij geschiedt door een schriftelijke kennisgeving, welke vóór de eerste december in het bezit van de secretaris moet zijn. Deze is verplicht de ontvangst binnen 1 maand schriftelijk te bevestigen. Indien een opzegging niet tijdig heeft plaats gehad, loopt het lidmaatschap door tot het einde van het eerstvolgende verenigingsjaar, tenzij het bestuur anders besluit of van het lid redelijkerwijs niet gevergd kan worden het lidmaatschap te laten voortduren.” Voor vragen omtrent, het lidmaatschap kunt u onze website raadplegen of u kunt terecht bij de secretaris (secretaris@politicologie.nl).

Dear NKWP member:
The Annual Political Science Workshops of the Low Countries 2022 (or in Dutch ‘Etmaal’) that takes place on June 16-17, 2022 in Nijmegen is now fast approaching. There are 12 workshops and a total of 120 participants. The deadline for registration for the Etmaal is Friday 3 June. The program is as follows: the Annual Members' Meeting (AGM) of the NKWP will take place in the morning prior to the start of the workshop from 10.45-11.45 in room EOS 01.550 in the Elinor Ostrom building. The workshops start after lunch at 13.00. On Thursday evening there will be some plenary activities: the winners of the Els Witte prize and the Daniel Heinsius prize will be announced and there will be a Roundtable that this year will be about The Russian Invasion in Ukraine with Prof. dr. Wim van Meurs, Prof. dr. Sophie Vanhoonacker-Kormoss, and Prof. dr. Bertjan Verbeek, moderated by Lema Salah. The workshops take place on Friday and end around 12.30 on Friday 17 June.
Our secretary would like to remind the members that the membership is valid for a whole calendar year. Article 7 (paragraph 2) of the statutes indicates how the membership can be cancelled (further details on the website). Here is an important passage from those statutes which are in Dutch only (courtesy translation): A member may cancel their membership at the end of an association year (the end of the calendar year). Cancellation shall be requested in writing; the email must be in the possession of the secretary before the first of December. The NKWP secretary will confirm receipt in writing within one month. If a member has not cancelled their membership in time, NKWP membership will continue until the end of the next association year, unless the board decides otherwise or the member cannot reasonably be expected to continue the membership.
