The 2022 Cheney Library Summer Reading Program kicks off on July 15! Join us for activities that encourage explorations of new ways to create, experiment, and interact with nature. And don't forget: you can win prizes at the end of the program by tracking your reading! The program is open to Grades K-12, and it is free to participate.

We Who Believe in Freedom: A Community Conversation
Join us for a free community conversation with Dr. Alice Green about her book We Who Believe in Freedom: Activism and the Struggle for Social Justice. In discussion with Paul Grondahl, Green will talk about her experience as a lifelong advocate for social justice, discuss historic and continuing challenges in our community, and share the work she is currently doing and how community members can help.

Summer Spice Club
Love to cook, bake, or simply experiment in the kitchen? Join us at the library for flavorful summer fun! Create a dish using a featured spice, then meet at the library every 2 weeks to share your cooking adventures. Bring in samples to share, photos of your creations, or just a story about how your delicious dish came to be.
For the first time, Cheney Library is holding a Summer Reading Story Hour! In July and August, join us on Tuesdays at 10 AM for stories, songs, crafts, and lots of fun. This program is open to children ages 2 through Pre-K. All participants must be accompanied by an adult.
Available on a first-come, first-served basis. Supplies are limited. Please ask a librarian for a kit.
Shop Our Book Sale Anytime!
Cheney Library's book sale is open whenever the library is open! We are also currently accepting donations of books in good condition. If you have items you would like to donate, please bring books to the library during our open hours so that a librarian can review any items of interest.

Calling all builders! Join us for Lego Club at the library to construct the creations of your dreams! Grades K-3 meet from 4 PM - 5 PM on Friday, June 3. Grades 4+ meet from 4 PM - 5 PM on Friday, June 17. Please note: Lego Club does not meet in July or August.
