Dear Partners,
Yesterday, the Kigali Summit on Malaria and NTDs saw global leaders make the first in a series of ground-breaking commitments to end the diseases.
Now, as G7 leaders are set to meet in Germany from Sunday for the G7 Leaders’ Summit 2022, an Open Letter to leaders has been published in Politico calling for bold action and a fully replenished Global Fund and co-signed by Member States’ former high-level political figures including former Commissioners, Ministers and Secretary of State, and Senate majority leaders of various G7 countries. The letter was led by the RBM Partnership with support from our partners.
Now that the Kigali Summit is behind us, we encourage you to share the letter with your networks and help mobilize action ahead of the G7 Summit to put pressure on the other Heads of State to join with the US and each meet the 30% increase for the Global Fund at the Seventh Replenishment Conference in September. Achieving this will save 20 million lives, avert more than 450 million infections or cases of HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria, and rebuild vital frontline health services that will help detect and stop the next pandemic.
Included below is a brief social media toolkit with suggested tweets, Twitter handles and Global Fund digital assets to be used on your channels today and over the weekend.. We also invite you to follow the hashtags to help amplify engagement around the letter.
